Envisioning to build more housing units all over the country, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. called on the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) to strengthen its mandate in creating strategies and policies geared towards providing quality and affordable homes for Filipinos.
With the ceremonial groundbreaking of the ‘Legacy Residences Development Project’ under the Administration’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program in Naga City, Camarines Sur, the President urged the DHSUD and local government units (LGUs) to continue working together to meet the demands of housing programs in the nation.
The construction of housing units in Naga City demonstrated the unwavering commitment of the government in making its development goals happen. To this end, the Chief Executive recognized the 83 Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) and four (4) Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) inked by the DHSUD and LGUs to start the construction of housing projects in various localities.
According to the DHSUD, the housing project in Naga City is part of the two housing programs in the Bicol Region under the 4PH Program that aims to build one million housing units annually for the next six years. Since its launching in September 2022, around 19 groundbreaking activities have been conducted across the country.
