GSIS Financial Center, Pasay City
June 19, 2018
After gracing the 81st anniversary celebration of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Secretary Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go applied for the Unified Multi-Purpose Identification (UMID) card at the GSIS Financial Center in Pasay City.
President Duterte and Secretary Go went through the process of ID picture capturing, signing on the signature pad, fingerprint scanning, and information verification during the enrolment procedures facilitated by GSIS personnel.
The UMID System is stated in the Executive Order No. 420 signed by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on 13 April 2005, requiring all government agencies and government owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) to streamline and harmonize their ID system. The GSIS UMID card carries a Common Reference Number (CRN) that is utilized as a link to the Social Security System (SSS)/GSIS, PhilHealth, and Pag-Ibig ID numbers of the member.
