President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was given a final briefing on his upcoming participation to the 28th and 29th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summits and Related Summits in Lao People’s Democratic Republic from September 6-8, 2016.

Director Zaldy B. Patron from the Office of ASEAN Affairs in the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) conducted the final briefing to the President at Malacañan Palace.

The three-day Summit, which will be participated by the ten ASEAN leaders, will focus on the discussion of the regional bloc’s community building efforts especially with the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025. Likewise, the ASEAN Chairmanship will be handed over to the Philippines where the country is set to host next year’s meetings.
