President Rodrigo Roa Duterte conferred the Order of Sikatuna with the rank of Datu (Grand Cross) to outgoing Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines, H.E. Kazuhide Ishikawa, in the latter’s farewell call at the Music Room of Malacañan Palace.

The President conveyed his appreciation to Ambassador Ishikawa for three (3) productive and distinguished services as the envoy of Japan to the Philippines. He referred to the Ambassador as the friendliest diplomat and always smiling, saying, “I hate to see you go.”

Ambassador Ishikawa expressed his gratitude to President Duterte for the conferment and said, “My highest honor in my life.”
