President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Ahmad AL-Malki, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Philippines, in a farewell call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.

During their meeting, the Ambassador gifted the Chief Executive few items as Qatar is hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup — the 22nd edition of the competition and the first World Cup in the Middle East.

Over the years, the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Qatar have grown increasingly based on partnership in many areas of cooperation including trade, investment and tourism, among others. The State hosts around 300,000 Filipinos residing or working in various development projects, contributing significantly in boosting the economy, and playing an important role in achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030.
