The Republic of the Philippines and the Russian Federation formally established diplomatic relations in 1976. A year after, the Philippines constructed an Embassy in Moscow that caters to the needs of the Filipinos in the said country.
To date, the Embassy is serving around 10,000 Filipinos working and living across the Russian Federation. According to Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos Sorreta, the Embassy continues to serve and provide assistance for these ‘kababayans’ in terms of their welfare, security, and well-being.
