“Kaya’t ang utos ko sa ating mga Cabinet Secretary, ay sabi ko sa kanila kailangan lang talaga — kailangan patuloy lang ang ating pagtulong hanggang talagang maramdaman na natin na makatayo ang tao sa kanilang sariling paa,” said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in his brief remarks when he led the distribution of assistance from various government agencies at the Leyte Academic Center in Palo, Leyte.

Among the assistance handed over during the program were monetary aid to recipients of the Rice Farmer Financial Assistance Program from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and two (2) units of disinfection trucks to the provinces of Southern Leyte and Northern Samar; monetary aid to beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); monetary aid to persons under the TUPAD Emergency Employment Program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE); laptops from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for the intended recipients of the Department of Education’s (DepED) Tech4ED Program; and one (1) unit of ambulance each for 20 local government units (LGUs) under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) of the Department of Health (DOH).

“Kami po bilang gobyerno ninyo ay nandito upang tumulong at hindi kami aalis hanggang nakikita namin na kaya niyo na na magsarili dahil ‘yan po ang aming naging prayoridad na umahon at pagandahin ang ekonomiya at dahan-dahan, dahan-dahan aabot din tayo diyan,” the Chief Executive conveyed in his message.
