Around 200 informal settlers or 100 households gathered together at the parking lot in Purok 35, Acacia Street, Barangay 76-A, Davao City for a dinner prepared by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for them. He arrived at around nine in the evening.
In his message, the President underscored that there will be no demolition if there are no guaranteed relocation sites for the informal settlers.
Prior to the arrival of the President, a pre-program hosted by James Infiesto was prepared for the people, including various games for the participating children. The kids even showcased their ‘budots’ dancing which the President is also known for.
After dinner, pails filled with a pack of rice and canned goods were distributed to the crowd.
President Duterte vowed to have dinner with the informal settlers when they warmly greeted him during one of his visits to a nearby place. Delighted by their huge outpouring of support, the President personally invited them to this special occasion.
