President Benigno S. Aquino III departed for Beijing, China for the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting to discuss matters about advancing regional economic integration, promoting innovative development, economic reform and growth, and strengthening comprehensive connectivity and infrastructure development.
In his speech, President Benigno Aquino III said that the meetings will be focused on preparedness response on different calamities, developing small, medium and micro enterprises and promotion of good governance among others.
“Ipapamalas natin ang kahandaang magsilbing lunsaran ng pag-arangkada ng ating mga ekonomiya tungo sa malawakan at pangmaagalang kaunlaran,” the President said.
From China, the President will go to Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar to participate at the 25th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits. The summit is said to discuss topics in strengthening economy, trade, migrant protection, prevention of trafficking in persons, climate change and preparedness and prevention of the Ebola virus.
“Taos-puso rin po tayong magpapasalamat sa kanilang pagtulong nang humarap ang ating bayan sa patong-patong na sakuna noong nakaraang taon”, he said.
