The eye clinic of Dr. Jose Rizal used to stand at D’ Aguilar Street in Central Hong Kong. In honor of the Philippine National Hero, the Hong Kong government placed a commemorative plaque that states:

“Dr. Jose Rizal (1861-1896), a Philippine physician, poet, author and patriot highly respected in his motherland, practised medicine from 1891 to 1892 at a clinic that once stood at 5 D’Aguilar Street.”
