President’s Hall, Malacañan Palace

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received the members of the United States-Association of Southeast Asian Nations (US-ASEAN) Business Council in a courtesy call at the President’s Hall in Malacañan Palace.
The event is alongside the Council’s annual business mission in Manila from 8-10 August 2023 to increase in-depth discussions with the Philippine government in various areas of cooperation.
In his remarks, the President underscored that the meeting serves as a venue for the Philippines and United States to strengthen bilateral relations anchored in the continuous promotion of peace and protection of national interest in the Indo-Pacific region.
He said that this is significant in discussing concrete steps in upholding socioeconomic cooperation, including the sectors of agriculture, clean energy, infrastructure, climate change, digital connectivity and post pandemic recovery, among others.
President Marcos Jr. also affirmed that the country’s alliance with the United States remains strong, asserting that both nations will remain valuable partners in achieving sustainable development.
The US-ASEAN Business Council is a non-profit organization established in 1984 that conducts research and analysis in the ASEAN Member Countries in terms of economic, financial, political, social and environmental conditions.
