President Benigno S. Aquino III received Mr. Tony Tyler, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of International Air Transport Association (IATA) on his visit in Malacañang. With over three decades of experience in the airline business, he believes that the aviation industry delivers extensive social and economic benefits, creating millions of jobs and putting up huge investments for the country. Tyler has visited more than 25 countries to raise awareness on aviation’s key issues for a safe, secure, efficient and sustainable global air transport industry.

The IATA is the global trade organization of the air transport, one of the most dynamic industries in the world. Its members comprise 240 airline companies representing 84% of the total air traffic. It seeks to improve understanding of the industry among decision makers and increase awareness of the benefits that aviation brings to national and global economies.
