On the fourth day of his visit to Japan, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, together with the Philippine delegation, met with the officials and members of the Japan-Philippine Parliamentarians’ Friendship League (JPPFL) in a courtesy call at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.

According to the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Japan, the JPPFL — composed of legislators from the Japanese House of Councillors and the Philippines’ House of Representatives — seeks to develop legislative initiatives that promote an affirmative engagement between the two (2) countries.
