President Benigno S. Aquino III welcomed Luiza Carvalho, United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator in Malacañang.

Luiza Carvalho led the UN humanitarian team in providing assistance to the people of Zamboanga City where an estimated number of 136,000 people were affected by the deadly clashes between government forces and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Misuari faction.

Also present during the call were Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin and Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman.
