“Without LGUs, there is no government,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. emphasized as he welcomed several local officials from the City of Manila during their courtesy call at the President’s Hall in Malacañan Palace.

This visit, according to the President, marked the cooperation between the local government of Manila and the national government to “find ways, in the future, to work more closely” and address problems in the grassroots level.

The Chief Executive and officials from the ‘Capital City of the Country’ mutually expressed their support and cooperation on government programs and projects that will provide better and more benefits not only for Manileños but also for all Filipinos.

The officials present in the courtesy call comprised of Mayor Ma. Sheilah Lacuna-Pangan, Vice Mayor John Marvin Nieto, Representatives Ernesto Dionisio Jr. (1st District), Rolando Valeriano (2nd District), Joel Chua (3rd District), Edward Maceda (4th District), Erwin Tieng (5th District), Bienvenido Abante Jr. (6th District), Liga ng mga Barangay — Manila Chapter President Leilani Marie Lacuna, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President Daniel Dave Tan and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

The City of Manila is home to the seat of Philippine Government and two (2) million Filipinos, according to Mayor Lacuna.
