President Benigno S. Aquino III received His Excellency Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo y Marfil, Foreign Minister of Spain on Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, in Malacañan Palace.

The foreign minister is in the Philippines for a trade mission and to explore possible business opportunities between the two nations. They are most keen in investing in Public Private Partnership (PPP) infrastructure projects like roads, railways and airports.

While in the country, the Spanish foreign minister is also set to visit Tacloban City, Leyte to meet with some of the victims of last year’s super typhoon. The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and Development (AECID) is one of the generous donors that assisted the victims in the province.
