The Government of the Philippines (GPH) peace panel members, led by chief negotiator Marvic Leonen, called on President Benigno S. Aquino III in Malacañang shortly after the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) forged a “Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro” to end decades of conflict.
In a press briefing, Leonen said that the framework agreement is the mother agreement that is a roadmap and contains a set of principles and values that would guide the process for the final political settlement with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. He also announced that a transition commission will be formed to craft a proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law.
