President Benigno S. Aquino III received newly-appointed Word Bank Vice President of East Asia and Pacific (EAP) region Axel van Trotsenburg in a courtesy call at the Malacañan Palace.

Mr. Trotsenburg is in the country as part of his tour in the East Asia and Pacific region since he assumed office on February 1, 2013.

He is expected to meet with top government officials and representatives from civil society, business groups, media, and other development partners to discuss how to best align World Bank’s emerging assistance strategy for the Aquino administration in order to achieve its inclusive growth agenda for the next three years.
