President Benigno S. Aquino III received Mr. Richard Li, Chairman and CEO of the Pacific Century Group, in a courtesy call at Malacañan Palace.

Mr. Li was accompanied by FWD Group Chairman Ronald Arculli, FWD Group CEO Huynh Thanh Phong, and FWD Life Insurance Corporation President and CEO Peter Karl Grimes.

Present for the Philippine side were Finance (DOF) Secretary Cesar Purisima, Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Gregory Domingo, and Philippine Insurance Commissioner Emmanuel Dooc.

The Pacific Century Group was founded in 1993 and is an Asia-based private investment with interests in technology, media and telecommunications, financial services, infrastructure, property and other investments. Part of its insurance business arm is the FWD Life Insurance Corporation that services general insurance, employee benefits and financial planning.

FWD Life Insurance Corporation is the first foreign life insurer granted a license under the new Philippines Insurance Code. It has implemented a system that can provide 100% paperless sales process for customers and achieve immediate underwriting.
