President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. conveyed his deepest gratitude to the People’s Republic of China as he formally accepted the 20,000 metric tons of fertilizer donation to the Philippines in a program at the National Food Authority (NFA) warehouse in Malanday, Valenzuela City.

“It will tremendously aid our efforts to boost agricultural production and our nation’s pursuit of food security…Soon, these donated goods will find their way to our Filipino farmers. They will be able to spend the savings gained from production costs for other things that matter to them and their families,” the President emphasized in his keynote speech.

He gave his firm assurance that the Philippines will work towards strengthening ties and advancing mutual interests with China.

“As we walk to the half-century of our diplomatic ties, let this day be a celebration of many things for us: the diligence and hard work of our farmers; our realizable goal of food self-sufficiency; and the lasting, beneficial impact of the longstanding friendly ties between two nations,” he concluded in his message.

After the main program, President Marcos Jr. inspected the donated urea fertilizers and led the ceremonial send-off of hauling trucks that will proceed to regional delivery points for distribution to Filipino farmers across the country.
