President Rodrigo Roa Duterte visited the Philippine National Police – Police Regional Office XI (PNP-PRO XI) at Camp Quintin M. Merecido, Catitipan in Davao City.

PRO XI Regional Director, PCSupt. Manuel Gaerlan presented a situation briefing to the President on the internal general situation in the region such as the different operations conducted against lawless armed groups (LAGs), the decrease in the crime volume, the illegal drugs campaign, and the Martial Law implementation in Region XI.

After the situation briefing, President Duterte proceeded to the program venue of his talk to the troops and awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan/PNP Efficiency Medal to six (6) police officers of PRO XI, namely SPO3 Noel Sator, SPO2 Renee Canete, SPO1 Allan Wines, PO3 Love Oblimar, PO2 Ronde Oblimar, and PO2 Julius Mar Templa who conducted blocking operations in Carmen, Davao del Norte against three armed men believed to be members of lawless armed groups (LAGs) last June 23, 2017.

Plaques of merit were also awarded to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) represented by Police Director P/SSupt. Alexander Tagum, and the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU-XI) represented by RDEU-XI Chief P/Supt Arnold Palomo.

Moreover, a plaque of recognition was awarded to SPO2 Wilfredo Guillema, Jr. for having displayed exceptional dedication to duty and efficiency as one of the team leaders of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 11. The award was received by his wife, Mrs. Wilhelma Guillema.

In his message to the troops, President Duterte expressed his gratitude to the police officers as they continue to implement the government’s mandate, specifically Martial Law in Mindanao. “The government is ever thankful for the service that you selflessly give to our country. In this light, logistical support has been given to our police forces to ensure they have adequate provisions to perform their duties as well,” said the President.

Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, Police Deputy Director General Archie Francisco Gamboa, and Acting Director of Doctorate for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) of Eastern Mindanao PCSupt. Jose Llesis Gentiles also attended the event.
