President Benigno S. Aquino III attended a business meeting co-organized by the United States Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Business Council, and the National Center for APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) in his first-ever Working Visit to Chicago, United States of America.

The participants include business executives from JP Morgan Chase, TransUnion, FedEx Express, Microsoft, Cargill, Caterpillar, GE Transportation, Baker & McKenzie, and Underwriters Laboratories.

Majority of these multinational companies have been operating in the Philippines for many years.

Instead of delivering a speech, the President encouraged the attendees to ask questions for the meeting to be more productive. Together with his economic managers and other Cabinet members, President Aquino responded to the comments, queries and suggestions during the Q&A (Question and Answer) and roundtable discussion.

According to Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio ‘Sonny’ Coloma, Jr., the executives congratulated President Aquino for the growth of the Philippine economy as one of the fastest growing in the region.
