President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. held a business forum with several executives from the United States as he continues his official visit to Washington, D.C.
In his keynote message, the President announced that the Philippines is on the path to recovery and enumerated the positive economic indicators such as the 7.6% gross domestic product (GDP), main contributors to the GDP, a banner year for Philippine exports to the U.S. in 2022 as the highest in record and many more.
“We have come now to recognize the concept of economic security wherein the stronger an economy is, the more secure it is and the more partnerships we can maintain, to maintain the peace in our region,” President Marcos Jr. imparted.
The Chief Executive cited his Administration’s efforts to make the Philippines conducive to foreign investors and stressed the importance of creating more partnerships with the private sector to achieve economic security.
“So there are many opportunities that we can see before us and for our country’s greater economic integration are ahead of us. And we seek the support of the private sector, your support, to bring more attention to these opportunities,” the President ended in his message.
