President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gathered the local government unit (LGU) of Cagayan province and the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region II Directors to monitor the ongoing rehabilitation efforts in the province as Super Typhoon Lawin left thousands of families homeless and brought extensive damages on agriculture, livelihood, and infrastructure.

Present during the briefing were some of the President’s Cabinet members including Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Judy Taguiwalo, Health (DOH) Secretary Paulyn Ubial, Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar, Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Benjamin Diokno, and Agriculture (DA) Secretary Manny Piñol.
