Bongeunsa is a 1,200-year old Buddhist Temple located on the slope of Sudo Mountain, across the street from COEX Mall in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu in Seoul. It was founded and built in 794 by the monk Yeon-hoe and has undergone several renovations and reconstructions.

Today, Bongeunsa is establishing itself as the center of Buddhist practice. It is a notable tourist destination because visitors can lead the life of a monk for a few hours with its “Temple Stay Program”.
