As a follow-up to their previous bilateral talks during the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits in Cambodia last year, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam met on the sidelines of the 42nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit at the Meruorah Convention Center in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia.

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Enrique Manalo, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil, and Philippine Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) Leader and DFA Undersecretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro joined the President in the meeting.

Several officials also accompanied the Vietnamese Prime Minister including Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Thanh of the Office of Government and Deputy Director-General Nguyen Le Thanh of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Southeast Department.
