Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum located in the large Ba Dinh Square of central Hanoi is one of the city’s most visited attractions. Modeled like Lenin’s mausoleum in Russia, it was first opened to the public in 1975 though security is tight for visitors to those who want to see President Ho’s final resting place.

Presidential Palace

Located near the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is a yellow three-storey building constructed between 1900 and 1906 as residence for the French Governor General. Now, the Presidential Palace is used for hosting government meetings and receiving heads of state and other foreign dignitaries.

Headquarters of Vietnam’s Communist Party

Adjacent to the Presidential Palace in Ba Dinh Dinh Square is the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Headquarters. General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng is the current leader of CPV.
