to the 22nd ASEAN Summit

President Benigno S. Aquino III will join other nine leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) – member countries in the 22nd ASEAN Summit being held at Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei Darussalam.
On April 24, the President will meet with His Majesty and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah who will host a working dinner at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). He will also participate at the summit’s Retreat Session where the ASEAN leaders are expected to exchange views on various international and regional issues, and at the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Summit on April 25.
With the theme “Our People, Our Future Together,” this year’s meeting will emphasize the role of the ASEAN community in developing its cooperation in the areas of economy, political security and socio-cultural. This year also marks the 46th year of ASEAN’s existence.
