New Zealand Foreign Minister Gerry Brownlee holds a dialogue meeting with his counterparts from ten ASEAN member states for the annual ASEAN-New Zealand Ministerial Meeting at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on August 6, 2017.

In his official statement, Mr. Brownlee revealed “discussions this year will focus on counter-terrorism, the Korean Peninsula, cyber security, and maritime issues.”

New Zealand is one of ASEAN’s oldest dialogue partners since 1975 and together with Australia and Japan, was amongst the first dialogue partners to hold summits with ASEAN in 1977. At present, New Zealand recognizes ASEAN as its second fastest-growing trading partners.
