President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. convened with his fellow Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Leaders and representatives of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) for an interface meeting at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
AIPA acts as the center of communication and information among the ASEAN Member States composed of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. It plays an integral role in ensuring that regional agreements and policies are being carried out for the realization of the ASEAN vision.
The ASEAN Leaders’ Interface Meeting with the AIPA representatives is a high-level dialogue that aims to enhance cooperation between AIPA and ASEAN, and serves as an avenue where the legislative and executive bodies exchange information on recent developments within the Region at all levels.
