President Benigno S. Aquino III arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at around 3:20 in the afternoon via PR001 for his first State Visit to Malaysia.
Among the lined-up activities of the President in his two-day visit are the meetings with Prime Minister Mohd Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak and His Majesty The Yang Di-Pertuan Agong. He is also scheduled to attend the Business Opportunities Forum with Malaysian traders and conduct one-on-one business meetings with three key companies in Malaysia.
President Aquino is also set to inaugurate one of the biggest Petron filling stations in Malaysia and gather with the Filipino community residing in the country.
DFA Secretary Albert del Rosario, DTI Secretary Gregory Domingo, DOF Secretary Cesar Purisima, PCOO Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr., Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Teresita Deles, Chief of Presidential Management Staff Julia Abad and Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras accompanied the President for the state visit.
The Philippine delegation was welcomed by Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia Jose Eduardo Malaya III, Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato Sri Anifah Hj. Aman, Chief of Protocol and Consular of Malaysia Dato Syed Munshe Afdzaruddin and Minister in Attendance Tan Sri Datuk Seri Joseph Kurup.
