President Benigno S. Aquino III was welcomed by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the Bali International Convention Center just before the Opening Ceremony of the Bali Democracy Forum VII in Bali, Indonesia where he will co-chair this year’s forum.

He will be among the four heads of state who will participate and share their experiences and insights on democracy. This will be the first BDF that President Aquino will be attending although the country has been actively participating in the promotion of democracy locally and in neighboring countries. The attendance of the President is fitting considering that he is the son of two icons of democracy that were known around the world.
