President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. warmly welcomed Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan in Malacañan Palace as the latter commenced his two-day Official Visit to the Philippines from November 3-4, 2023.

The visit of Prime Minister Kishida highlights the commemoration of the 67th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Japan this year.

The two leaders exchanged views on further advancing the interests and cooperation between the Philippines and Japan, covering various issues anchored in strengthening ties in terms of the economy, political and security cooperation, as well as people-to-people relations.

President Marcos Jr. considered the visit as an important milestone in the strategic partnership between the Philippines and Japan. He expressed his unyielding commitment to continue working with the Japanese government in enhancing the bilateral relations between the two nations and vowed to explore ties in other equally important areas.
