President Benigno S. Aquino III reaffirmed the Philippines’ strong ties with the Republic of Korea as he arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal II on Friday night from his two-day State Visit.
In his speech, the President assured that South Korea, under the leadership of President Park Geun-Hye, is ready to support the Philippines. They were able to tackle issues concerning the two countries’ defense, calamity and disaster response, trade, and maritime security.
“Damang-dama po natin ang pagkasinsero sa pakikitungo sa atin ng kanilang Pangulo Park Geun-Hye. Sa aming paghaharap, nagpahayag po ng suporta si Pangulong Park sa prosesong isinusulong natin upang mapanatili ang stabilidad at maresolba ang mga di pagkakaunawaan,” he said.
Likewise, he announced that Korean businessmen expressed their interest in investing in the country as the Philippine economy continues to soar.
Moreover, amidst the earthquake that transpired in Cebu and Bohol, the President said that the South Korean government extended their sympathy to those affected and pledged to provide financial support to aid for their fast recovery.
In the end, President Aquino expressed his optimism towards the continuous growth of the Philippines. “Ang matibay ko pong paniniwala: Kung kaya nilang maabot iyon, tiyak ko po, kaya rin itong maabot ng Pilipino.”
