President Benigno S. Aquino III arrived early morning at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal II from a successful trip to Japan.

In his arrival statement, President Aquino lauded the Filipino community in Japan for their support and assistance to the victims of typhoon Yolanda. The President also honored the strong bilateral relations between the Philippines and Japan, where he stressed that the country felt the sincerity and support by the Japanese government and its people through the grants they have given for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the places ruined by the super typhoon.

President Aquino also emphasized the progressive economy of the country and the increasing investment opportunities.  While in Japan, he answered inquiries on issues regarding energy, financial regulations, tourism and television broadcast.

During the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit, issues affecting the region were discussed wherein the Philippines encouraged the other countries for an equal mechanism that will answer the threat of climate change aside from relief and disaster response, as well as to focus on industries that greatly affect the environment.

The President added that the good news continue to pour in the country as the $184 million loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) that will be used for the purchase of ten coast guard vessels was signed after going through the normal process of bidding, and is expected to reach Philippine shores by 2015.

“Pakikisamang tunay po ang pinipilit nating ipakita sa lahat ng bansa. Sinusuklian nila ito ng napakabuti at napakatunay ding pakikisama: May respeto, at nagpapamalas ng makabuluhang pakikibalikat habang sinisikap nating abutin ang ating mga adhikain,” President Aquino said.
