President Rodrigo Roa Duterte arrived at the Bandar Seri Begawan International Airport at 5:56 in the afternoon to begin his State Visit in Brunei Darussalam as part of his tour within the 10 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries.
The President was welcomed at the airport by Ambassador Meynardo LB Montealegre together with the Philippine Embassy officials, and the Brunei government officials.
Among the members of the Philippine delegation who arrived with the President are Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Perfecto Yasay, Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez, Finance (DOF) Secretary Carlos Dominguez, Communications (PCO) Secretary Martin Andanar, and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.
From the airport, President Duterte went straight to Istana Edinburgh where he will stay during his three-day visit to the Sultanate.
This is the fourth foreign trip of the Chief Executive since assuming the nation’s highest post.
