President Benigno S. Aquino III’s day two at the 2013 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit was concluded with a sumptuous dinner and an entertaining cultural show hosted by Indonesia President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his spouse Mrs. Ani Bambang Yudhoyono.
President Yudhoyono told the leaders to relax and enjoy the evening after a busy day and before the tight schedule the next day.
Top Indonesian performers entertained the crowd with varieties of song and dance presentations. Delon, a local pop artist, sang the Filipino kundiman “Dahil Sa’yo” which was originally recorded by Rogelio dela Rosa in 1938.
The gala entitled “Kulkul” night is named after a trumpet-like wood used to call and assemble Indonesian people during the ancient time. Today, the term is used to bring together 21 leaders of the Asia-Pacific in Bali to achieve a common goal of enhancing economic growth and prosperity in the region.
