President Benigno S. Aquino III conferred the Gawad Mabini with the Rank of Commander (Dakilang Kasugo) on Jollibee Foods Corporation Founder Tony Tan Caktiong for his contributions as Chairperson of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2015 CEO Summit.
The President presented the award at the Music Room of Malacañan Palace following the annual Vin D’Honneur for members of the diplomatic corps.
Mr. Tan Caktiong was recognized for his exceptional and laudable philanthropic services as Chairman of the Jollibee Group Foundation. He was also known for his efforts in the field of education, youth involvement, livelihood programs for farmers, environment protection, and decent housing and disaster relief for calamity-stricken regions.
