Wellington, New Zealand
19 October 2012
Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand located at the southern island of the country. Most of the time, it is described and remembered as “Windy Wellington” because of its usual windy weather condition. The city is encapsulated by hilly mountaintops and massive bodies of water that contributes to its cool climate. It is home to a variety of cultural and arts sites, fine gourmet dining and cafés, and remarkable sceneries of nature.
Weta is a film production company that created the famous Peter Jackson movies such as Lord of the Rings, King Kong and Avatar and is situated in Miramar, Wellington. The company built a two-in-one store and museum called Weta Cave. It showcases on-sale collectible items such as miniature sculpture of movie characters, souvenir key chains, t-shirts, refrigerator magnets, and the most-sought after The One Ring. Life-sized figures of Gollum, Gandalf, and villain characters are also displayed in the mini museum.
