Since it is located high up in the Alps, Davos is best visited during winter season when the snow falls the hardest. There are a number of attractions here but the main draw is the skiing, snowboarding and other winter sports. It is famous for its fresh mountain air and was considered as a health resort in the 18th century. Its high altitude and long hours of sunshine cured many cases of lung diseases from around the world including tuberculosis.
