One of the major historical sites in India is the Humayun’s Tomb or the Maqbera e Humayun, where the tomb of Emperor Humayun lies. He was the second emperor of Mughal Empire who ruled over India, Afghanistan and Pakistan from 1530 to 1540 and from 1555 to 1556.
Emperor Humayun’s first wife, Empress Bega Begum, commissioned the construction of the tomb, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1993 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
