“Sa lahat ng pagbabagong ating naipunla dahil sa mandatong handog ng ating mga Boss noong 2010, nakita natin ang nabubuong sentimyento: Dapat siguraduhing hindi masasayang ang mga ito, sa halip ay ipagpatuloy pa upang lalong lumago at magbunga para sa mga susunod na salinlahi,” President Benigno S. Aquino III said during the Gathering of Friends held in Cebu City.

He acknowledged the Cebuanos for their unwavering trust and support that began during his senatorial term up to his presidency, and cited the country’s positive transformation and achievements under his administration, such as the credit rating upgrades, all-time high direct investment and lowering of the unemployment rate, as a result of his ‘Daang Matuwid’ campaign.

“Wala naman po siguro sa inyong nag-iisip pang ibalik tayo sa daang baluktot. Doon ba tayo sa baka kayang ipaglaban ang tama? Sa baka kayang ipagpatuloy ang Daang Matuwid?,” he added.

Moreover, President Aquino emphasized that the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), which has produced 333,673 high school graduates, is one of those projects that he would like to be continued by the next administration.

“Kaya nga po, dito sa darating na referendum sa Daang Matuwid, kumpiyansa ako na ang mga Cebuano, patuloy na maninindigan para sa tama,” President Aquino ended.
