President Benigno S. Aquino III graced the 80th founding anniversary of the Department of Labor and Employment.

In his speech, President Aquino imparted his appreciation on the department’s efforts to provide relief to the affected families of typhoons Pablo and Yolanda.

The President as well expressed his admiration to the accomplishments of the department over the years. Among the most recent ones, DOLE was able to open thousands of emergency employment to devastated communities on the aftermath of super typhoon Yolanda. They were also able to stir a stable industrial peace climate, encouraging more local and international investors. The Single Entry Approach (SEnA), new labor law compliance and incentivizing system and the Unified Registration System of the Kasambahay Law were also initiated by the department for the welfare and protection of all Filipino employers and employees.

Present during the event were DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Secretary Joel Villanueva, former DOLE secretaries and employees.
