President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. lauded the Naval Special Operations Command (NAVSOCOM) as he led its 67th Founding Anniversary, which featured a capability demonstration and an awarding ceremony at Naval Base Heracleo Alano (NBHA) in Sangley Point, Cavite.

“As an elite unit of the Philippine Navy, the extensive counter-terrorism training and operations that you conducted against terrorist groups and other lawless elements, including your rescue missions, have greatly supported the AFP’s internal security efforts, especially in southern Philippines,” the President said in his keynote address, recognizing NAVSOCOM’s efforts to curb smuggling and other illegal activities at sea.

The Commander-in-Chief also urged the Department of National Defense (DND) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to maximize and review the strategic deployment of military forces to ensure their responsiveness to current and future geopolitical realities, particularly in bolstering the country’s external defense.

Furthermore, he assured them of the Administration’s firm commitment to enhance NAVSOCOM’s capabilities through acquisitions under the Revised AFP Modernization Program.

“We will likewise support you in implementing programs to enhance your knowledge and skills, as well as ensure your welfare and equally important, your family’s well-being. Together, let us bring peace, stability, and prosperity in our lands and seas, all while standing as a wellspring of hope to our present and our next generations,” President Marcos Jr. concluded his message.
