“This festivity is an affirmation of your collective triumph in upholding the spirit of unity and cooperation,” said President Rodrigo Roa Duterte when he congratulated the provincial government in holding the celebration of Agusan Del Norte’s 50th founding anniversary at the grandstand of the Caraga State University – Cabadbaran City campus.

Speaking before some 1,500 local residents and other invited guests, the President imparted that through their persistence and hard work, Agusan Del Norte has grown towards greater social economic growth.

He said that initiatives to develop promising tourist spots alongside the province’s agricultural sector has led Agusan Del Norte towards sustainable development.

“These moves have diversified income opportunities among citizens and uplifted many people from poverty,” President Duterte said, adding that the locals and public servants alike should use these accomplishments as driving force to aim higher in making their province a better place.

On the country’s ongoing battle against drugs and criminality, the Chief Executive reminded his fellow Mindanaoans to remain vigilant as government expresses essential measures for the safety of the people, and for the restoration of public order in areas affected by terrorism.

“Together, we will work relentlessly in overcoming these obstacles on our way to become a more inclusive and progressive society,” he ended.

Also joining the President during the celebration were Agusan Del Norte Governor Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante-Matba and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Catalino Cuy.
