Aguinaldo State Dining Room, Malacañan Palace

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte reiterated the administration’s conviction for a better agricultural sector during the 36th Presidential Agrarian Reform Council (PARC) meeting at the Aguinaldo State Dining Room inside the Malacañan Palace.
One of the items tackled during the meeting was the recommendation of the PARC Executive Committee (PARC Execom) on the partial motion for recommendation filed by the Santo Tomas Individual Farmers Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (SIFARBCO) on its resolution recommending the revocation of the lease agreement on the Alternative Venture Agreement (AVA) between Marsman Estate Plantation, Inc. (MEPI) and Davao Marsman Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development Cooperative (DAMARBDEVCO).
The committee also discussed the motion for reconsideration filed by MEPI and DAMARBDEVCO on the decision of the PARC to revoke or cancel their lease agreement.
The condonation of interest on amortization payments of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and the possible issuance of an Executive Order on the subject were also deliberated by the council.
Amongst other matters, the 36th PARC meeting also discussed the possible certification of House Bill No. 555 or the Genuine Agrarian Reform Bill as an urgent or administration bill.
Present during the meeting were several Cabinet members such as Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and PARC Vice-Chairperson Secretary Rafael Mariano, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar, and Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Benjamin Diokno.
