President Benigno S. Aquino III reiterated his appeal to all Filipinos to be united in helping the Typhoon Pablo victims during the 26th Bulong Pulungan Christmas Party and Charity Fund-Raising Raffle Drive held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel, Pasay City.
Moreover, the President expressed in his remarks a simple yet meaningful request to the members of Bulong Pulungan.
President Aquino conveyed his gratitude for the donation of Bulong Pulungan officials worth P50,000, Manila Bulletin editors worth P250,000 and raffle ticket proceeds worth P55,000 totalling to P355, 000. The monetary grant was turned over to Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman which will be used to assist the families in disaster-affected areas.
After the Chief Executive was awarded with the Bulong Pulungan People’s Choice Award, he fielded questions from the media practitioners present in the event. Among the topics asked to him ranged from personal matters to current issues including his Christmas wish, relaxation activities, number of children he would have wanted, 2013 election campaign, and some controversial house bills.
The President was joined by Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio “Sonny” Coloma Jr., Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation Chairman Cristino Naguiat Jr., and Bulong Pulungan Co-founder Deedee Siytangco.
