Langkawi speeds up preparation for the upcoming 26th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) where it will host the summit retreat in Kuah, Langkawi right after the conclusion of the summit meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Langkawi Municipal Council has intensified the beautification of the main roads and areas near the convoy route where all ASEAN leaders will traverse; starting from the Langkawi International Airport right up to the Langkawi International Convention Center (LICC) which is the venue for the ASEAN Summit Retreat on 27 April 2015.

Apart from the ASEAN Summit Retreat, LICC will also hold two other summits: the 11th Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Summit and the 9th Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Summit on the following day, 28 April 2015.
