After the Plenary Session, leaders of the ten-nation summit proceeded to the Ruby Hall for the scheduled ASEAN Retreat.

In his statement, Myanmar President and current host of the 24th ASEAN Summit U Thein Sein said that a range of topics including the South China Sea, matters concerning the Korean Peninsula, disaster relief and the Middle East issues were among those discussed. Also included in their discussion were the issue of the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 and the multinational assistance for the families of the missing passengers.
