President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gathered his Cabinet and other top government officials for the 22nd Cabinet Meeting at the Aguinaldo State Dining Room in Malacañan Palace.

Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco, Jr. kicked off the conference with the highlights of the previous Cabinet Meeting and the consequent actions of the government.

It was followed by an update on government efforts that addressed various issues in Albay by Presidential Adviser Francis Tolentino, a briefing on China and Japan assisted railway projects by Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade, an update by National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Ernesto Pernia on the application of the Reproductive Health (RH) Law, and a presentation on the issues that beset Boracay Island by Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Wanda Teo and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Roy Cimatu.

Other topics discussed include the Unconditional Cash Transfer Program by Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Undersecretary Emmanuel Leyco, considerations in increasing the salaries of teachers by Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Leonor Briones, and a proposed branding for the Philippines by Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar.

The President was also briefed on the performance of the Philippine economy for the fourth quarter and full year of 2017, the status of his legislative agenda and other matters before the 22nd Cabinet meeting was adjourned.
